The Stanhopea Gallery

Stanhopea warscewicziana alba Klotzsch

This species comes from Costa Rica at about 1400m in elevation, from hot tropical forests. As presently known, these hot Costa Rican forsets are the only habitat it is to be found in. It is quite a large growing plant for a Stanhopea with its leaves reaching up to 1 metre long. It produces up to 7 quite chunky blooms per stem. An eye spotted form and the albino form is known.
