Stanhopea anfracta Rolfe


This species produces between 5-10 flowers per stem. The individual blooms reach about 6cm in diametre. It is found from Ecuador to Bolivia on the eastern side of the Andes Mountains. This species tends to always produce a rather large eye spot on the hypochile, where just below the eye spot, the hypochile is sharply kinked forming a sort of “u” shape from a lateral view. A very easy grower in the bush house or as a landscape plant in temperate climates.
