Paphiopedilum gigantifolium Braem, Baker & Baker

This species was recently discovered from the Island of Sulawesi south east of Borneo. It is a large growing species, reaching the plant proportions of P. kolopakingii. An erect inflorescence up to 70 cm long bears five or more interesting flowers. It is found as an epiphyte on a specific specie of tree fern at altitudes up to 700m.
