Oncidium longipes Lindley

A native of several states in south eastern Brazil, it is found growing in the cooler moist areas of the mountains and can also be located in the warmer lowlands. It is a smaller growing species, the pseudobulbs reaching about 20-25mm tall with strap like leaves growing to 100-150mm long. The raceme is quite short for an Oncidium only reaching about 15cm long bearing between 2-5 long lasting blooms. It is an easy grower in cool to intermediate climates.
