Maxillaria tenuifolia Lindl.

Many of us would be familiar with this popular and very easily grown species, distributed from Mexico to Costa Rica at lower elevations and up to 1500 meters, in either dense or open humid forests. The yellow flowers flushed with red reach about 4cm across, and the white lip is spotted red. The blooms are highly scented with a delicious coconut perfume.
