
Maxillaria rufescens Lindl.
This very easily grown species is quite wide spread through out Central America, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and the West Indies. The smallish flowers may be produced up to twice a year under the right conditions. It grows well in temperate to warmer climates as a bush house plant. It produces a vanilla perfume and is found at elevations of 600-1700m.
