Gongora galeata (Lindl) Rchb.f.

Sometimes this orchid is referred to as being common in collections. Whether that be the case or not, it is restricted to only 5 states of Mexico for its distribution. It is one of the easiest and most rewarding Gongora to grow, in fact one of the easiest of all orchids to grow. It is quite variable in colour and produces a beautiful perfume with its successive blooming period from late spring through to late autumn. Seed raised plants make excellent additions to the garden in temperate to subtropical climates.
