This Colombian species is from the section Gongora. Unfortunately it does not produce as many blooms per inflorescence as most other members of this large section. Usually between 6-12 flowers per pendulous stem are borne. The most blooms I have observed on a single inflorescence is 19, which was on a quite large plant.
